Privacy Policy

What personal data we collect when you visit this website, buy MixSession or activate it, why we need it, and your rights.

Draft: the company details in square brackets are not filled in yet (see .env.example).

Who is responsible

The data controller is Coherent Software, [street and number], [postcode and city], Denmark, CVR [CVR number]. Questions about your data: [support email].

What we collect, why, and on what basis

  • Your order: name, email address, billing country, the product, the amount and tax charged, the payment reference and the time of purchase. We need this to deliver your licence and to handle support and refunds (performance of the contract), and to keep accounting records (a legal obligation).
  • Your consent at checkout: that you accepted the terms, and asked for immediate delivery, with the time and version of the terms. We keep it as proof that we followed consumer law (legal obligation and our legitimate interest in defending claims).
  • Licence activation: when you activate MixSession, it sends your licence key, a machine identifier (an anonymous code made from your PC, not your name or files) and the PC's name, and later checks that the licence is still valid. We use this to enforce the number of PCs a licence allows and to switch off refunded or abused licences (performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse).
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic request details appear in server logs and are used to limit abuse and to keep the site secure (legitimate interest).
  • Messages to us: what you write when you contact support, so we can answer you (legitimate interest and performance of the contract).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. MixSession does not upload, scan or send your music or your mixes anywhere.

Who we share data with

  • Stripe processes your payment. It receives your name, email, billing address and payment details and is responsible for them under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). We only receive the confirmation, the amounts and your billing country.
  • Providers that host this website and our systems, and that send our emails, working for us under data processing agreements.
  • Our accountant and authorities, when the law requires it.

Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, for example in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision or the EU standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: five years after the end of the financial year, as Danish bookkeeping law requires.
  • Licence and activation records: for as long as the licence exists, so you can keep using and re-activating it.
  • Server logs: a short time, normally no more than a few weeks.
  • Support messages: as long as needed to help you, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, to correct it, to delete it (where we are not required to keep it), to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to [support email] and we will answer within one month.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.dk), or to the authority in the country where you live.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
